Save the Village is one of several rapid prototypes I built. I was originally using GameSalad, which is excellent for a rapid 2D game, but I have since switched to using Unity (GameSalad eliminated their free version, and I would have had to pay for Pro in order to publish outside of the GameSalad Arcade). This game was meant to evoke a classic arcade feel - frantic action, simple controls, easy enough to understand but difficult enough that you wouldn't blame yourself for failing frequently. As it is, it's clearly far from finished, but I generally enjoy the nearly-8-bit feel of colored squares. My main design goal for Save the Village is to polish my touch user interaction skills, and to practice with varying, infinite difficulty.
